About Makana O Ka Lani Farm
From carefully grafted seedlings to roasted beans, our coffee grows on the volcanic hillside of Mauna Loa overlooking the ocean in the historic Kona belt on the big island of Hawaii. Bright red coffee cherries are hand picked each fall; processed, dried, sorted and roasted before we package them for delivery.
Beyond the 2,500 coffee trees, the eight-acre Makana O Ka Lani farm boasts over 75 cacao trees, at least 300 banana trees, papaya, mango, avocado, ulu (breadfruit), starfruit, fig, and many citrus varieties. Dragon fruit, guavas and wild turkeys add extra character to the estate.
Makana O Ka Lani means "Gift of Heaven" in Hawaiian and we are truly thankful to our Creator for His wonderful gifts that feed our bodies and souls. We invite you to try our coffee and share it with those you love.
